Each of the Mercofoods beehives, as well as those belonging to the associate producers, is identifiable by means of a bar code which allows us to trace each beehive’s background, from its creation up to this day. We record all sanitary treatments, changes of queens, filling of wax in frames, etc. We also record the hive bodies, with the corresponding bar codes and the apiary they belong to. These are the hive bodies which, when filled with honey, will be transported to the extraction room (see THE PATH OF HONEY).

Once the honey is extracted, it is placed, well identified and traced, in new drums which are fit for this product. Then the drums are sealed for commercialization and sampled to analyze the physicochemical properties of honey in laboratories authorized by SENASA.
